Grade K-6 Religion Classes

There is not a Kindergarten class this year, 2009-10 due to a lack of students.

Students in grades 1 through 6 use the textbook series "Blest Are We". The curriculum follows the diocesan guidelines of "Learned Outcomes". Each grade has a focus which includes basic theme, scripture and prayer. They expand in number as grade levels move upward.

Grades 1-6 public school children meet for class on Wednesday afternoons from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m.

Grades 7, 8 and 9 Religion Classes

Grades 7, 8 and 9 are using a brand new curriculum this year, "T3: The Teen Timeline", published by Ascension Press. This program is a teen Bible study. Lessons are presented on DVD followed by group discussion and activities in their Teen Study Guide.

Grades 7-9 public school children meet on Sunday mornings from 9:00 -10:30 a.m. Attendance is required before being enrolled in the 10th grade direct preparation of Confirmation.

Grade 10 High School Religion Classes

The curriculum for Grade 10 public high school students is "Theology of the Body for Teens", published by Ascension Press. This program is divided into 12 unique sections that reflect the pedagogical approach of Pope John Paul II's revolutionary teaching. The program has been designed specifically as a catechetical program to fit perfectly into the teens' religious education.

Students attend class on Sunday mornings, 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. Class attendance is a requirement of the Confirmation Program.

Religion Class Registration

Registration for public school religious education is held in the gathering space of the church in August. Families are asked to fill out and return the forms to the religious education office before the start of the fall semester. This ensures that all students will be entered correctly in our parish database program.
